Where applicable, RemoExperts acts as the data controller.

This policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information when you access or use the RemoExperts website (https://www.rex.zone), our related mobile or web services, software, platforms, or applications (collectively, the "RemoExperts System"), participate in RemoExperts activities, or otherwise interact with us.

3. Personal Information We Collect

"Personal information" (or "personal data") means information related to an identifiable natural person. Definitions may vary depending on applicable data protection laws.

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Registration Information: Name, address, country, phone number, email, education, and work background.
  • Identity Verification Information: Government-issued ID, selfies, or video submissions for identity and skills verification.
  • Service Usage Information: Task completion records, submitted content (text, audio, video), which may include biometric data.
  • Marketing, Events & Communications: Contact details provided when subscribing to newsletters or registering for events.
  • Survey Information: Responses to surveys or research participation.
  • Financial & Payment Information: Information necessary for payments and tax compliance, such as online payment account identifiers.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use our website or services, we automatically collect device-related information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring website. For details, please refer to our Cookie Policy.

3.3 Information from Third Parties

Examples include:

  • Data shared through Google or Facebook login (e.g., name, email).
  • Tax information provided by payment processors.
  • Verification results provided by third-party identity verification providers.

While we may suggest tasks based on your self-reported skills, RemoExperts does not use automated algorithms or Artificial Intelligence (AI) to perform user profiling or automated decision-making that produces legal or significantly similar effects.

To support our global operations, your information may be accessed by authorized personnel in the United States and the Asia-Pacific region. Regardless of the location of our personnel, we apply the same high standards of data protection and security measures described in this policy.

We may share personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Affiliates: To provide and improve the RemoExperts System.
  • Business Partners: For example, if your account is created by a corporate client, its administrators may access your data.
  • Service Providers: Under contract, only to process data on our behalf.

  • Third-Party Platforms: In certain cases, your account information may be used or accessed by third-party platforms to support system integration, provide related services, or complete identity verification. These third parties will process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

  • Corporate Transactions: In case of a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer.

For clarity, we will only share your information with third-party partners or our clients for specific project requirements after obtaining your explicit, separate consent for that specific instance of sharing, when required by applicable law.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal information for a period of six (6) months following your last interaction with the platform. If no further authorization or activity is recorded within this timeframe, your personal information will be permanently deleted or subjected to irreversible anonymization, unless legal obligations require a longer retention period.We retain personal information as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, after which it will be securely deleted or anonymized. Some records may need to be retained longer to comply with legal obligations.

We implement reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect your information. However, no system can guarantee 100% security.

8. International Data Transfers

As a global platform, RemoExperts utilizes a distributed infrastructure to ensure system stability and performance. Your personal information is primarily transferred to and stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers located in Ohio, USA. We also maintain backup systems and secondary servers in California, USA. By using the RemoExperts System, you acknowledge that your information will be processed and stored in these locations. Regardless of where your information is processed, we implement the safeguards described in this policy to ensure your data remains protected according to applicable standards. Your information may be transferred to the United States or other countries where data protection laws may differ. Regardless, we will always protect your information in accordance with this policy.

9. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
  • Withdraw consent.
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Exercise data portability.
  • File a complaint with a data protection authority.

10. Minors

The RemoExperts System is not directed to individuals under 18. If we discover that we have collected personal information from a minor, we will delete it.

11. Working Location Policy

RemoExperts operates in specific locations only. Account registration is not available in all regions. Some projects may be restricted to contributors from specific states, regions, or countries. Your location also determines applicable tax forms.

During onboarding, you may be required to verify your identity and location using a government-issued ID and other personal information, to confirm you are located in a region where RemoExperts operates. Once verified, your Primary Location will be assigned, and you may only work from that location.

If you relocate to another country, or to a different state within the United States, please contact our support team and provide a valid government-issued ID from your new location to update your primary work location. For international travel, you may submit a "Travel Request" through the Contributor Console to apply for temporary work authorization in another eligible country.

If you attempt to work outside your Primary Location or fail to update it after relocating, your account may be paused until the new location is verified. If you encounter issues during verification or onboarding, please contact our support team for assistance.

This section explains how RemoExperts uses cookies and other tracking technologies, and your choices in managing them.

12.1 Definitions

  • Cookies: Small data files stored on your device to recognize your browser, enable features (e.g., ads, interactive content, analytics), and record information. Cookies may be first-party (set by RemoExperts) or third-party (set by external providers), and can be session cookies (for a single visit) or persistent cookies (for multiple visits).
  • Third-Party Cookies: Managed by providers such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google, used to build interest profiles, measure ad effectiveness, and deliver targeted ads.
  • Session Cookies: Enable website features and track interactions; deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent Cookies: Store login credentials, preferences, and activities until expiration.

  • Mobile Device Settings: Control advertising data via your device (e.g., enable "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android).

  • Do Not Track (DNT): Not all browsers support DNT, and there is no industry consensus. Currently, RemoExperts does not respond to DNT signals.

12.4 Analytics Services

RemoExperts uses analytics providers to aggregate data and improve services. Data may be transferred to and stored in the United States. Usage is subject to each provider's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy:

  • Google Analytics: Analyzes website traffic; opt-out available via Google's opt-out tools.
  • Hubspot Analytics: Connects website activity with customer engagement; see "Managing Cookies" for instructions.

We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via email or platform notifications.
